I am not sure about you, but I am always griping every week I have to pack up all my chargers to go racing. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone made something that could eliminate all the clutter from my work bench.
Well … Nimble Motorsports has done just that with their new TwoLane Procharger.

Just take a look at this feature list:
- Charges 4-7 cell NiCd/NiMH Batteries
- 12 Amp AC/DC Power, with standard IEC detachable AC power cord
- Integrated Temp Sensors. Battery Packs sit on the top of the charger in contact with the sensors. No hassles of attaching sensors to the packs.
- Configurable 1-6 Amp Charge Rate by 1/2 amp increments
- Configurable 20mV to 140mV deltaVoltage cutoff using our Triple Peak detection algorithm.
- Configurable +4 to +20 deltaTemp cutoff
- Configurable Max Temp cutoff
- Exclusive DeltaMode which allows selection of combination Voltage Peak Only (other chargers); Temp Peak Only; Voltage OR Temp peak (default); and Voltage AND Temp peak. The Voltage AND Temp peak mode guarantees no false peaks!
- Each Charge Lane configured separately
- “No-Button” Charging starts Fast Charge immediately, or can be configured into Trickle or Manual mode
- Adjustable 16-Speed Fan, Off to Maximum cooling.
- Sharp Back lit LCD is easy to see under any conditions
- Direct Output mode will power a motor lathe
- Reverse Battery/DC Power Polarity Protection
- Space Saving Design eliminates cable mess
- Non-skid rubber feet
- Flamed Paint at no extra charge
- Custom Paint Available, with matching bodies too!
Using the TwoLane Procharger couldn’t be easier. Just attach your packs and the unit starts charging them! It is THAT easy. Of course, you can switch between three different modes - Fast Charge, Trickle Charge, or Manual Settings.
The charger is controlled and configured using the button and dial on the front panel. Pressing on the button will display the main menu of options. The dial is used to move the cursor back and forth over the letters on the second display line to select a menu item. The top line displays the details of the currently highlighted item. Pressing the button activates the highlighted item.
The charger has a two line display which shows the status of both the A and B batteries. When a battery is not connected, the status shows no bat and the current temperature reading of the temp sensor for that lane. When a battery is connected, the status changes to at indicating a new battery has been attached. With the standard configuration settings, a newly attached battery will immediately begin fast charging. The status line then changes to ch, and alternates between showing the current charge rate in Amps and charging time, and the current battery voltage and temperature. When the battery is done charging, the status changes to either pV if the voltage peaked, or pT if the temperature exceeded its limit. The battery is no longer being charged and can be removed and replaced with another battery to be charged.
The Twolane Procharger easily handled all of my GP3300 packs. I charged every pack at 6.0 amps and none of my packs false peaked. The instant charging feature was nice because I am prone to forget to push the charge button once in awhile.
I would have liked to see a discharge feature on the unit, but that would most likely drive the cost up. So I can understand why it was left out of this version.
Likes:
- Charge two packs at once
- Power supply can power other devices (lathe, brush serrator, etc)
- Built in power supply
- Compact design
Dislikes:
- No discharge feature
If you are looking for a new charger or just looking to augment your current charger collection then I suggest you give Nimble Motorsports a look. Where else can you get two chargers and a power supply in such a compact and easy to use package?
