We received 2 packs of batteries from Tom Himes (owner of Spec Point Batteries).

Mr. Himes offered to solder the 435+ pack himself and send it out to me assembled. I must say the quality of the soldering job and shrink wrap was quite impressive. I appreciate his skills!
The 2nd set of cells came loose for me to solder. I scuffed up the cell ends, and applied a good flux. I held the bar tightly to the cell and applied a hot iron with a BB size amount of solder. The solder flowed down and around the bar. Solder is a poor conductor of electricity and you want to minimize the amount between the bars and cells.
Very Important:
Before you begin to solder any batteries - MAKE SURE THE POLARITIES MATCH UP!. Nothing is more aggravating than finding out you soldered polarities wrong…
Having recently started Dirt Oval racing I have been using the Spec Point batteries in my Dirt Oval car (Stock B4 with an EDM body) for 3 weeks now. After my 4 minute heats I have about 195-215 seconds left after discharge (down to .9v/cell) running a 27×1 stock motor (Monster stock variant).
The Numbers:
We cycled the packs on a Competition Electronics Turbo 35 GFX.
1st Cycle

I have been extremely happy with both packs at my local Dirt Oval track. I have been able to stay competitive and running for all of my 4 minute heats.
