To the naked eye the Prosilver motors with S.I.B. Technology look like a standard Monster stock motor thats found in many stock class (27 turn) vehicles. S.I.B stands for “Self Inductance By-Pass”. It is technology only found on Prosilver Motors. By equipping a motor’s armature with semiconductors the inherent destructive arcing will be turned into useful torque. Expect 5 times longer run times between comm truing. Expect a 4% to 6% increase in torque and power. There are twelve inherent destructive arcs generated every revolution in these motors and SIB Technology puts them to work for you. In order to understand how it works we need to have an understanding of Lenz Law.
Lenz Law states: Any inductor or magnetic coil that has a change in current, the induced voltage is generated in the coil will oppose that change.
INDEPENDENT TEST RESULTS
RSR Dynamometer
Motor tested: 13 turn double, timing set at 0 degrees, medium tension brush springs

Stock (27×1) armature with S.I.B Technology:

In a DC electric motor changes in current are occurring every time a coil undergoes commutation. Induced voltage that opposes change will occur every revolution causing high voltage arcing that destroys the commutator and brushes. By by-passing induced voltage with SIB the commutator and brushes are not being subjected to this destructive arcing. Hence, long lasting comm and brush life will be achieved.

Ive been using this motor for a few weeks of carpet touring car racing and I noticed the motor running cooler and not showing as much wear on the comm as other motors of the same type that I run. I noticed an increase in torque, runtime and lower temperatures.

Likes:
- Great communication with the vendor
- As easy to rebuild as a normal stock motor
- Brushes and bushings broken in by Prosilver
- No special maintenance is needed for S.I.B Technology
- Great runtime, less heat and comm wear!
Dislikes:
- Due to the S.I.B Technology this motor is not R.O.A.R Approved due to modifying the armature
Note:[/b] The modified S.I.B motors ARE R.O.A.R legal.
We would like to thank Prosilver for allowing us to review their motors!
