To find your ratio simply divide the spur gear teeth by the pinion teeth. For example a 78 tooth spur gear mated to a 23 tooth pinion gear is a ratio of 3.39 ( 78/23=3.39 )

Initial impression:
The gears looked very precise and lighter than the stock TC3 spur gear.

The standard gearing on a stock Ready to Run (RTR) Associated TC3 is 3.00 (72 Tooth spur / 24 Tooth pinion = 3.00). Up until now I was limited to a 72 Spur, which limited my gear ratios to:

Note: If you look at the ratio for the 72s/24p and the 78s/26p they are both 3.00. Just because this number is the same does not mean the car will accelerate the same. The ratio with the 78 spur gear will give you more torque from the start, and the 72 spur gear will give you less torque.

Having too low a ratio will give you fast top end, but will take you a while to get there, and put a strain on your motor and batteries. With a ratio that is too high, your car will spool up very fast and have lots of torque but it will lack any top end speed. A good ratio is something that will give your car good acceleration, top end, and not overheat your equipment.

Conclusion:
Most out of the box TC3’s are loud out of the box. I noticed my car running much quieter with the Robinson Spur gears. I was able to increase my available gear ratios and have more control over the cars acceleration and top end. My only gripe is the time it takes to change a spur gear on a shaft driven car, but thats something that can be overcome easily with time and patience. I would definitely recommend the Robinson racing Precision 48 pitch gears to anyone who is looking to increase their ratios within the 48 pitch range.

In most of the pics, the side by side comparison is a Robinson Racing Gear vs. the stock TC3 spur gear that has some wear on it and was in need of being replaced.
